1981年生まれスウェーデン出身のフォトグラファーLina Scheynius。そのセンシティブな作品は流麗な映画の一部を切り取ったかのような美しい画で、静かな感情が纏ったかのような雰囲気だ。自身初となる作品集"LINA SCHEYNIUS 01"が400冊限定で6月末に発売されている。
Hitspaper：あなたのバックグラウンドについて教えて下さい。
Lina：Lina : 私は80年代、90年代初期にスウェーデンの小さいな町で育ちましたが、16歳の時には家を出ることを決心しました。
私は若い時から常に何らかのクリエイティブな活動をしていましたので、暫くして、そのいくつかの活動の中で写真を撮るという行為に行き着いたのは必然と呼べるのかもしれません。
それは父親がいつも私達の成長過程を撮影していたことも無関係ではないでしょう。
そして、作品に関して言えば彼の自然光を利用した手法とその気質性は、現在の私に大きな影響を与えていますね。
実際のきっかけについては、数年前に旅行に行ったりモデルをやったり、科学を勉強したりと色々試行錯誤していた時期があったのですが、1年前、写真にどっぷり浸る決心をしてからですね。今は、本当に私自身の人生を生きている実感があり、とても幸せですね。
Hitspaper：Can you tell us your background?
Lina：I grew up in a small industrial town in sweden in the 80s and early 90s.
At 16 i decided to move away from home.
I always did some kind of creative activity from an early age and after a while it was just natural that photography was the one i stuck to.
My dad always took a lot of pictures of us when i grew up and i think his use and natural light and his compositions has had an influence on what i do today.
I travelled a lot and did modelling for a few years and studied science, and one year ago i decided to give photography a proper try.
So that is where i am now. Happy.

Hitspaper：あなたの初作品集"LINA SCHEYNIUS 01"について教えて下さい。
Lina：確か、この本を世に出そうと思ったのはulaanbaatar(モンゴル)の宿の二段ベットで横になっている時でした。
ブックは軽くて購入しやすいものにしたかった、、、誰もが購入を考えてくれるように。
私自身いつも、他のフォトグラファーの美しい本を見つけるのですが、非常に高価で重量も重い為、購入まで至らないので、、、
唯一購入するのは、ソフトカバーの小説などですからね。だからその写真バージョンを作ってみたかった。
上手く行けば、これがシーリズのナンバーワンになります。 制作には約1年間程かかって、ほぼポートレイト作品になります。
限定400冊でサイン入りで、私のサイト (www.linascheynius.com)のみで購入可能ですよ。
Hitspaper：Please tell us about your 1st book "LINA SCHEYNIUS 01".
Lina：i think i was in a bunk bed ill in ulaanbaatar when i decided i wanted to start making photographic books.
i wanted them to be light and affordable. something that anyone can buy without having to think twice.
i find beautiful photographic books all the time that i don't buy because they cost a lot and they are very heavy.
the only books i ever buy really are soft back novels.
so i wanted to make a photographic version of that.
hopefully this is number one in a series of many many.
the photographs are taken within the space of one year. they are mainly polaroids.
It is a limited edition of 400 numbered and signed and it is sold exclusively through my website (www.linascheynius.com).

Lina：ありがとうございます！言語化されたものでの説明ではなく、写真を通じて、私が見ている世界観を感じてもらえれば嬉しいですね。
Hitspaper：Your works are part of movie. fantastical,unique,original...Will you speak to us about your view of the world?
Lina：Thank you very much! I think it is better to let people get a picture of my view of the world by looking at my photographs rather than me trying to describe it in words.

Hitspaper：作品を通じて一貫したコンセプトはありますか？
Lina：この答えはまだ探しているところです。しかし、それ程、コトを難しく考えたくありませんね。
何故なら、私は写真を撮ることが好きであること、そして、写真を通じて何百とある解釈をストーリーとして語ることが好きだというコト。
このコトが続く限り私は幸せなのですから、、、とてもとてもシンプルな事なんです。
Hitspaper：What are you trying to seek and express through your work?
Lina：I am still looking for the answer to that.
I don't want to complicate things too much though.
Fact is that i love taking photographs and i love telling stories that can be interpreted in millions of ways through the help of photographs.
And as long as i love that i will just keep doing it and enjoying it.
It is really as simple as that.

Hitspaper：フォトグラファーにとって最も重要な要素は何だと思いますか？
Lina：眼。そしてイマジネーション。
Hitspaper：What do you think is the most important elements for photographer?
Lina：The eyes. And the imagination.

Hitspaper：クライアントワークについて教えて下さい。パーソナルワークとの違いは何でしょうか？
Lina：クライアントワークはちょうど1年前くらいから始めていて、例えばクライアントはAnother man、 Dazed & Confused、Dossier、Exit等ですね。
クライアントワークの私の取り組み方は、パーソナルワークのそれと同じように、面白くシンパシーを感じ合える仲間・友人に接するように取り組めるよう務めています。
Hitspaper：Please tell us about client work? What do you think differences between client work and personal work?
Lina：I have started doing client work just over a year ago.
Have worked for Another man, Dazed and Confused, Dossier and Exit among others.
I try to keep it as close to my personal work as i can by being spontanious and working with people i find interesting and get along with.

Hitspaper：将来のヴィジョンを教えて下さい。
Lina：スウェーデンで湖の側にある家が欲しいですね、、、それから2冊目もブックも出版したいです。
それは別として、私自身の矛盾と不安に向き合い自分らしさを表現し続けたいですね、、、そして、幸せ・愛情に囲まれて居られたら最高です。
Hitspaper：Please tell us your future vision?
Lina：I want to buy a house by a lake in sweden and i want to publish my 2nd book.
Apart from that i want to keep pushing myself to do things i might find difficult or scary and i want to stay happy and in love.

Lina：ありがとう。日本にまた戻りたいですね、、、8年間も訪れてないので！
Hitspaper：In conclusion ,can I have the message from you to japanese people??

And i hope i can come back to tokyo soon as i have not been for 8 years now!

Soothe one-man live 2009

津軽三味線・和太鼓・ギター・ベース・ドラムからなるインストゥルメンタル ジャムバンド[Soothe]が、2009年4月25日(土)に、duo MUSIC EXCHANGEにてワンマンライブを開催する。今回のワンマンライブでは、ミュージシャンはもちろん、世界的に有名なアーティストとの映像によるコラボも予定している。初夏には３枚のアルバムも、リリースされる予定で、今回は、特別にLive会場のみでの先行発売もおこなわれる。今後注目のバンドだけにぜひ足を運んで欲しい。
DIESEL UNIVERSITY

G/P galleryにて2月27日(金)から、今世界で最も注目される写真家の一人、スティーヴン・ギルの日本初個展となる『Hackney Flowers』を開催中。作家の代表作である同名のシリーズは全47点で構成されており、今回はオリジナルプリントを10点展示、また本展会期中には同シリーズ全47点を含めたオリジナルプリントを販売している。
