Hitspaper：私達に自己紹介をお願いします。
Feltron：名前はNicholas Felton(ニコラス・フォルトン)、現在30歳です。
ニューヨークを拠点にグラフィックデザイナーをしていますね。
クライアントワークや執筆活動はMegafone ( mgfn.net )として行い、パーソナルプロジェクトはFeltron ( feltron.com )としてリリースしてますね。

Hitspaper：Could you introduce yourself to japanese,please?
Feltron：My Name is Nicholas Felton.
I am 30 years old.
I am a graphic designer based in New York City.
My studio work is authored as Megafone ( mgfn.net ), while my personal works are released as Feltron ( feltron.com ).






Hitspaper：あなたの作品は論理的なアイデアで構築されていますね。
あなたの作品の理念を教えて戴けますか？
Feltron：そうですね。私の作品は非常にラショナルといえます。
クリアな作品と細部まで行き届いた作品を私は好きですし、それに近づけるように私は努力しています。
私は強力なアイデア、グリッドを多用すること、パレットから使用する色を制限すること、美しいタイポグラフィを心から愛しているので。

Hitspaper：Your works is logical idea.
What is the identity and philosophy of Your Works?
Feltron :I am very rational about my work.
I admire clear and meticulous works, and strive to create similar objects.
I am passionate about strong ideas, the use and misuse of grids, restricted color palettes and beautiful typography.





Hitspaper：あなたの作品である"The 2007 Feltron Annual Report"は非常に興味深いものです。
この作品について説明してもらえますか？
Feltron：The Feltron Annual Reportはただ単に私のアートに対する疑問へのアプローチに過ぎません。
あなたはどのようにして時間の梁間をプリザーブしていますか？
私の場合は、1年間を通じて自身の生活やイベント、アイデア、メディア、心的状態を統計学という方法を用いて表現しています。
このプロジェクトは2005年から3年間、現在も続けていて、それぞれの年で細部に渡って詳細が描かれていますね。
すでに次の2年間も計画していて、このプロジェクトが興味深いものである限り続けていこうと思っています。

Hitspaper：Your work called "The 2007 Feltron Annual Report" is interesting.
Could you explain it , please?
Feltron：The Feltron Annual Report is merely my approach to an ongoing question in the arts... how do you preserve a span of time?
In my work, I have chosen to use statistics from a year in my life to try and capture the events, ideas, media and mood ofv years in my life.
The project began formally in 2005 and has continued for 3 years now, with each year becoming successively more detailed.
I have planned the next 2 years already, and intend to continue for as long as the project remains interesting.





Hitspaper：グラフィックデザインは多くのトレンドが付き物です。それらの中で普遍的な特性は何だと思いますか？
Feltron：予測可能な流行はいつもサイクルとして回っているに過ぎません。
それらはとても魅力的ですが、しかし風潮はいつも反対方向に揺れ動きます。だからあなたはそれらに注意深く扱わなければなりませんね。
なぜなら、それらは永久的に続くことは決してないのですから。

Hitspaper：Graphic design is accompanied by many trends , What do you think about universal among all of them?
Feltron：The predictable thing about trends is that they will always be around.
They are very alluring, but the tide of taste will always swing in the opposite direction, so you must be very careful of how much you wish to participate in them, because they will never survive forever.






Hitspaper：アイデアは何処から生まれますか？
Feltron：何処から生まれるか確信はないのですが、、、そうですね歩いている時やシャワーを浴びている時ですかね。
スタジオやアパートメントから離れている時も同様に思いつきます。
たぶん、オフィス以外の場所で例えば旅行や読書などで私が見たり経験したことから発想されるのではないでしょうか。

Hitspaper：Where do the ideas come from?
Feltron：I'm not sure where the ideas come from... they appear most often when I'm walking or in the shower - away from the distractions of my apartment and studio.
And they probably come from the things I see and experience away from the office, while travelling or reading.





Hitspaper：あなたのライフスタイルについて教えて戴けますか？
Feltron：Annual Report projectが成功していれば私のライフスタイルを言う必要もないのですが、、、
私は非常に多くの時間働き、また可能な限り旅行をします。
食べることも飲みことも音楽や旅も仕事と同じように楽しんでますよ。

Hitspaper：Could you tell us about your life style?
Feltron：It is my hope that if the Annual Report project is successful, I won't have to say much about my lifestyle.
I work a lot, I travel as much as I can.
I enjoy eating, drinking, travel & music... as much as my work.





Hitspaper：将来試したいことはありますか？
Feltron：そうですね。パーソナルプロジェクトを続けることですかね。
将来的にはそのパーソナルプロジェクトがコアとなるようにしたいですね、、、本やタイプフォーマット、ウェブをベースにリリースすることで利潤を生み出すことが出来れば嬉しいです。

Hitspaper：Is there anything you'd like to try in the future?
Feltron：I would love to continue being able to work on my personal projects.
In the future, I would love for these assignments to become the core of my work and to become a profit-center in my practice, through the publishing of books, typefaces and web-based projects.



Hitspaper：現在、世界では様々な悲しい問題が起こっています。戦争やテロ、経済格差など。
こうした社会問題についてのあなたの考えを教えて下さい。クリエーターとして何か出来ることはないでしょうか？
Feltron：個人的に私は現状の環境、そしてビジネスとサステナビリティの格差に心を痛めていますね。
持続したディスカッションそしてプロジェクトのリマインダーを通じた公的圧力は、それらの今日的な意味を帯びている問題として、また意識を喚起させ続けるためにも私が望んでいることです。
私としては、米国内でGOOD( www.goodmagazine.com )と呼ばれる発刊物に寄稿しているのですが、この事が、消費とこの国の零落を救済する私のアイデアを投影する素晴らしいプラットフォームとして役割を果たしていると思っています。

Hitspaper：There are a lots of sad problem such as war,terror,economic discrepancy...etc.
Please tell us your thought for a social problem caused in the world?
Is there something we can do for them as creator?
Feltron：Personally, I am very troubled by the state of the environment, and the discrepancies between business and sustainability.
It is my hope that public pressure through the constant discussion and reminders of these projects can keep the issues relevant and raise awareness.
For my part, I have contributed to a publication called GOOD( www.goodmagazine.com ) in the United States that has served as a great platform for some of my ideas relating to consumption and reduction in this country.

Feltron：日本の方々に言っておかなければならないことがります。あなた達は偉大なインスピレーションの源です。あなたの国をもう一度、訪れることを楽しみにしています。
